Hello everyone. Greetings from Hope Siddha Clinic.
Hope everyone is in good health — wishing you all a healthy living.
As we are in the month of May, we have entered the summer season. So we have to get ready to face the extreme hot weather conditions of summer.
So, how to get ready?
As the temperature rises in the environment, our body also adjusts its temperature to maintain its functions.
One of the most important principles of Siddha is “Andathil Ullathey Pindam, Pindathil Ullathey Andam,” which means the human body is a replica of the universe. In the process of maintaining temperature, the body sweats more — so we naturally lose body fluids and can become dehydrated.
So what we have to do is rehydrate our body to help avoid related health issues.
So, how to rehydrate?
In general, our body consists of around 60% water, though this may vary according to age and gender. Water is the first choice for rehydration — so consume more water during summer.

During dehydration, the body can also lose certain minerals and salts that are important for balance and wellbeing. We need to compensate for that too.
For that, a helpful second choice is tender coconut water, which has nutritional value that can support replenishment.
